Playfair Audio releases Body free dynamics effect plugin
Playfair Audio has announced the release of a free one-knob dynamics plugin built on the same DSP engine that powers its Dynamic Grading innovative dynamics processing tool.

Body provides a single body control and gain control so engineers and producers can add weight and presence quickly and musically.

The plugin gives users a straightforward way to hear Dynamic Grading’s approach without the learning curve of the full product. It uses Playfair’s Spectrum and timing engine together with the Source Learn feature from Dynamic Grading, but with parameters fixed to proven, musical settings for fast results.

The Core Of Dynamic Grading
While many processors focus on traditional upward or downward compression and expansion, Body takes a different approach. Based on Dynamic Grading’s Body concept, it reacts around the centre of a signal’s dynamics rather than simply pushing from above or below. The result is a more natural and musical response, enhanced by the familiar Source Learn feature that automatically sets thresholds for effortless operation.

“We wanted a simple way for people to try the core of Dynamic Grading,” said Christian Luther, founder of Playfair Audio. “Body gives immediate, useful results. If people want more control or deeper metering they can download the Dynamic Grading demo.”

Body is free to anyone who signs up to the Playfair Audio newsletter, after which the download links will be delivered automatically by email.

The free plugin is available for macOS and Windows (VST3, AU and AAX) and carries no copy protection. A 14-day free trial of Dynamic Grading is also available for anyone wanting to test the full plugin and compare workflows and features.
